YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world. Unlike social media where content disappears in 24 hours, YouTube videos rank in Google Search and generate views for years. A single video can bring you customers, authority, and passive income long after you post it. That is compounding content.

Monetization Requirements
To join the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), you need:
- 01 /1,000 subscribers
- 02 /4,000 hours of watch time in the last 12 months OR 10 million Shorts views in the last 90 days
- 03 /Follow YouTube's community guidelines and monetization policies
- 04 /Have a linked AdSense account
The Shorts route (10M views in 90 days) is newer and can be faster if your content goes viral. But long-form content builds deeper audience relationships and generates more ad revenue per view.
Content Strategy
Pick a niche and own it. Do not try to be a general creator — go deep on one topic. Then create content around what people are already searching for. Use YouTube Search and Google Trends to find topics with demand.
Content Formula
Searchable Content — "How to" videos that rank in search (50% of uploads)
Trending Content — React to trends in your niche for discovery (30% of uploads)
Community Content — Personal stories and behind-the-scenes to build loyalty (20%)
Growth Tactics
Thumbnails and titles determine 80% of your click-through rate. Spend as much time on them as you do on the video itself. Post consistently — 2-3 times per week minimum. Use Shorts to funnel viewers to your long-form content. Cross-promote on Instagram and TikTok.
