Choosing a Crypto Exchange
You need a crypto exchange to buy and sell. The top options are Coinbase (beginner-friendly), Binance (most coins), and Kraken (advanced features). For US traders, Coinbase is the safest starting point. Always enable two-factor authentication and never keep large amounts on an exchange — use a hardware wallet for long-term holds.

Analyzing Crypto Charts
Crypto charts work the same as stock charts. Use TradingView to analyze price action on daily and weekly timeframes. Look for support and resistance levels, trend structure, and volume confirmation. The same patterns — engulfing candles, breakouts, pullbacks to key levels — work across all crypto assets.
Crypto vs Stocks: Key Differences
24/7 Markets — Crypto never closes. Set alerts, do not stare at screens all day.
Higher Volatility — 10% daily moves are normal. Use smaller position sizes.
Narrative Driven — Crypto moves on hype cycles. Understand the narrative, but trade the chart.
Crypto Risk Management
Because crypto is more volatile than stocks, risk management is even more critical. Never risk more than 1% of your account on a crypto trade. Always use stop losses. Take profits in stages — do not be greedy. The market will always give you another opportunity.
