Why Learn to Trade?
The stock market is the greatest wealth-building tool available. But most beginners jump in without understanding the fundamentals — they follow random tips, overtrade, and lose money. This guide teaches you the clean, no-indicator approach based on price action that I teach in my 1-on-1 Trading Mentorship.
I am StackModeChris, founder of Stackmode Network. I trade stocks and crypto using higher timeframes and clean charts — no lagging indicators needed.
Choosing a Brokerage
You need a brokerage account to trade. Popular options include Robinhood, Webull, and Interactive Brokers. Start with a cash account (not margin), and paper trade first — practice with fake money until you are consistently profitable.

Price Action Trading
Price action is reading what the market is actually doing — not what an indicator says. Every candle tells a story. Learn support and resistance levels, trend structure (higher highs/lows for uptrends), and candlestick patterns like engulfing candles and pin bars.
The 3 Things That Matter
Trend Direction — Trade with the trend, not against it.
Key Levels — Support and resistance is where trades happen.
Momentum — Strong candles with volume confirm direction.
Focus on daily and weekly charts. Higher timeframes give clearer signals. Day trading 1-minute charts is stressful and usually unprofitable for beginners.
Risk Management
Risk management is the most important skill. Never risk more than 1-2% of your account on a single trade. Always set a stop loss. Aim for minimum 2:1 reward-to-risk. Do not revenge trade — if you lose, walk away and come back clear-headed.
